Tess Forte

Tess Forte completed her certification in children’s and adolescent yoga and mindfulness through Little Flower Yoga with Jennifer Cohen Harper and trained as a Yin yoga teacher with Naomi Fox in early 2024. She has studied Reiki since 2017 and became a Reiki Master in 2022.

Tess is currently enrolled in 200-hour teacher training, as well as graduate work in the psychology of storytelling and the creative process. She is especially passionate about helping kids and teens learn about themselves, the world, and relationships by combining mindfulness and movement with the power of story, imagination, play, and self-expression.

Tess is the Executive Editorial Director for Scholastic’s School Reading Events division, which includes Scholastic Book Fairs, classroom Book Clubs, and the Storyvoice read-aloud platform. She is also a freelance writer, creative strategist, and visual artist through her consultancy, Tess Forte Creative, founded in 2006.

A native of New York City, Tess lives in Cranford with her teenage sons and tween daughter, all of whom share her love of creativity, story, and music.
